Brian Stillwell was the alias of a man found deceased in his hotel room.
Case[]
The decedent checked into a Holiday Inn in Raleigh, North Carolina on December 8, 1994. Information he provided while checking in has since been proven to be fake, but he was witnessed to have begun writing "Ca" then erasing it. It is thought this may have been part of his real name. Afterwards, he went to his room and wasn't seen again.
When he failed to check out on December 10, police entered his room with the doors, windows, and outlets to be taped shut. The decedent was lying in the bathtub; he had apparently asphyxiated himself with propane.
