Crystal Gayle Dittmeyer was a girl who went missing in 1996 in Oklahoma. Although her body has never been found, foul play is suspected in her case. Crystal's stepfather was convicted of her murder in 1998, the conviction was overturned in 2001, and he died in 2008. Regardless, he is the main suspect in this case.
Case
Crystal's stepfather, Benjamin Crider, is suspected to have murdered Crystal. Authorities became suspicious shortly after the disappearance when Crider bore superficial injuries, did not provide an alibi, and was believed to have purchased a garment bag. In addition, extensive bloodstains consistent with Crystal's DNA were located throughout his apartment and Crider refused to participate in a polygraph test. Furthermore, Crystal's mother failed a polygraph and was described as "neglectful" in various DHS complaints.
