Donna Jean Michalenko was a woman who disappeared from Kief, North Dakota in 1968. Foul play is suspected in her case, which remains unsolved.
Before her disappearance, Michalenko and a male friend visited a bar and stayed there until midnight. Her friend claimed he then dropped her off at the home of her ex-husband and 3 children in Butte, North Dakota. She was never heard from again.
Because Michalenko had a history of leaving town voluntary for long periods of time. She was not declared missing until her daughter filed a report on December 27, six weeks after her disappearance.
