"Carolyn" was the possible name of a young woman found murdered in Florida in 1983.
Case[]
In 1994, a convicted rapist named Ricky Lee Ross confessed to the murder of this victim. He told police that he met the victim, who he described as being in her teens, in Fort Lauderdale and she drove a Green Ford Maverick that she was also living in. He said the girl was a crack user and engaged in sex work. He said she became his girlfriend and he strangled her during an argument. He was able to recall details about her that hadn't been made public at the time but it's unclear if his story was ever verified.
Characteristics[]
- May have had previous fractures to her right wrist and left ankle.
- Has spina bifida, but it did not present symptoms and she may not have known about it in life.
- May have had a colostomy.
- Small to medium build.
- Osteoarthritis in her left hip and leg, possibly from a previous traumatic injury. This may have altered the range of motion in her leg, giving her a distinct gait.
- An overbite and extensive dental work, including several fillings.
- Had previously suffered an injury to her left ankle, which might possibly be linked to her osteoarthritis.
- Medium-length brown or auburn hair.
- Red or purple nail polish on toenails.
