Linda Sue Karnes was a teenage girl who was found deceased in a landfill in Ashland City, Tennessee in 1981.
She was identified in August 2023 with assistance from Othram. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is appealing for any information in regards to Linda's case, specifically about anyone Linda may have been with prior to her death.
Case[]
Linda ran away from a group home in Clarksville, Tennessee. When her remains were discovered, about 3-9 months after she was killed, it was believed she may have been a hitchhiker. Isotopic analysis suggested she had arrived in Cheatham County recently, most likely from the Midwest. They also indicated she was born in either Texas or Florida. Despite these results, Linda had been born in Ohio, spending most of her life in Cunningham, Tennessee.
