Christian Long was a young man who disappeared from his home in Corvallis, Oregon only for his remains to later be found on the banks of the Columbia River in Washington in 2019.

He was identified in May 2021.

Case[]

In May 2019, a citizen walking next to the Columbia River in Cowlitz County, Washington spotted what appeared to be human remains lying along the banks of the river. The recovered remains were then sent to the King County, Washington Medical Examiner's Office for further analysis.

Identification[]

In February 2021, after having the remains tested, detectives received confirmation that the decedent's family had been found, identifying him as Christian Long of Corvallis, Oregon, who disappeared in 2016.

Long had told his father he was going to be staying in Eugene, Oregon for a while in October, but after receiving no form of contact from his son, Long's father reported him missing in December 2016. It is currently unknown why he was in Washington or how he came to be found on the Columbia River's banks.
