"Balmore Man" was the nickname given to a man whose body was found hanging in a wooded area to the north of Golf Course Road in Balmore, Scotland in 2011. Authorities state that he died by suicide.
Due to the contents of his belongings, authorities believe he may have either been traveling or may not have had a fixed address at the time of his death. It's unclear if he was a UK citizen.
Characteristics[]
- Slight frame.
- Shoulder-length light brown hair, parted to the right.
- Healed broken nose, which may have been visibly crooked.
- Partially-healed fracture on his pterygold plate, located at the base of his skull.
- Unhealed and untreated fracture, located on the right-hand side of his jaw. This is likely to have caused him severe pain, especially when eating.
- Chipped upper left-front tooth. This may have been capped, and the cap may have become discoloured.
- Had a degenerative knee condition, which meant he may have walked with a limp.
Clothing and belongings[]
- Navy blue 'Max Fashion' zip-up crew neck jacket or cardigan with a narrow white band around the collar and a 'Southern Creek Pennsylvania' motif embroidered on the left chest area (Size S).
- Light blue 'Topshop' v-neck polo shirt with white writing on the front and a maroon band running diagonally across (Size S).
- Light blue 'Petroleum' jeans (Size 30L).
- White 'Urban Spirit' boxer shorts with a red waistband.
- Dark-coloured ankle socks.
- Black and grey lace-up training shoes with a red sole with 'Shock X' printed on the side and 'Waterproof' printed on the front (Size 45/11). Possibly 'Lidl' brand.
- 'Happy Shopping' carrier bag. Found near the body.
- Grey 'Nike' messenger bag with the tick motif missing. The bag contained:
- Two blue 'Gillette' razors
- Green 'Colgate' toothbrush
- 'Mitchum Endurance' deodorant
- 'Tesco Pro-Tech' dental floss
- 'Nokia' headphones
- 'Sony Ericsson' model EC-700 charging wire
- 'Sony Ericsson' model CCR-80 Micro SD card adaptor
- A lighter with a diamanté gem design with 'LOVE' printed on the side
- 'Swan' cigarette papers and filters
- Light-blue 'Jack & Jones' T-shirt
- Blue and white 'ASDA' T-shirt
- Dark blue 'Slazenger' T-shirt with three horizontal stripes: two white, and one blue
