Case[]
At 5:13 AM on February 9, 1968, the decedent attempted to break into a cleaning store on 3870 S. Normandie Avenue in Los Angeles, California. Two policemen, Charles Livingston and Robert Hutton, noticed him and surprised him in the act. Livingston and Hutton attempted to arrest the decedent, but he hid in a trash barrel. The decedent was ordered to come out, however he jumped out of the barrel and ran. The decedent climbed up a fence and Livingston fired one shot. Hutton, assuming he was being shot at, fired another shot, and the decedent fell to the ground. The decedent was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown which shot killed the decedent.
There is no official ruling on whether the decedent's death was ruled a homicide or justifiable, and there is no mention that he posed as a threat to the police officer's.
He possibly used the name Randolph Houser while alive.
