Margaret Carol Wininger (September 5, 1948 - between 1992 and 1994) was a woman whose body was found in 1994. Her cause of death was never determined but is presumed to have been homicide.
She was identified with assistance from Othram in February 2024.
Biography[]
Wininger grew up in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, then later lived with her family in Northeast Philadelphia. She went missing in the early 1990s.
Case[]
The woman's skeletal remains were discovered near an abandoned mine, left above ground with no evidence of burial. A foreign metal fragment was located in the lower jaw. She had died between six months to two years prior.
Isotope analysis by the University of South Florida indicated she spent time in Texas, Florida or other Southeastern states before she died. However, this was shown to be incorrect.
