For the woman found in 1982 in Alabama, see Miss X (1982)

Patrona "Patra" Patmios (born in 1946, died March 18, 1967) was a young woman discovered dead in Bear, Delaware, on March 18, 1967. While unidentified, authorities referred to her as Miss X. Despite her cause of death being sepsis, authorities ruled her death a homicide because her body was posed suspiciously. However, there were no signs of trauma on her body.

Her identity was confirmed by The Doe Network in January 2023, revealing her to be a missing woman from New Jersey. However, this identification has yet to be confirmed by law enforcement. There is little information about the circumstances regarding Patra's disappearance.

Case

Patra's body was found near Porter Road, which is located in a rural area outside of Bear, Delaware.

Investigators believe she died somewhere else. Her legs were covered with a laundry bag belonging to a laundry and dry cleaning company in Trenton, New Jersey.

The original owner of the laundromat had since died, but relatives of the owner remembered seeing a woman resembling Patra, who was either a customer or a nearby resident.

Distant maternal relatives of Patra were found in Virginia and North Carolina; however, none of the contacted relatives knew who she was. Authorities later buried her in Potter's Field in Delaware.

In the original investigation, authorities initially believed she had died as a result of an illegal abortion because soap-like substances were found in her vaginal cavity. However, authorities discovered she had died of untreated septicaemia.

The appearance of her death in a different location, coupled with the fact that she had been covered in a laundry bag and was partially naked, suggests that someone dumped her at the location.

Her death certificate lists the manner of her death as a homicide.
