Greece John Doe, also known as The Boy In The Blue Box was a boy discovered in a footlocker in 1976. The cause of his death remains undetermined, yet it is known, through recent examination, that he was malnourished and neglected while alive.

According to NamUs, NCMEC, and the Doe Network, he was identified in 2021. No further information has been released.

Case[]

The skeletal remains of a child were discovered inside a blue footlocker located in the basement of an apartment complex in Greece, Monroe County, New York. Subsequent inquiries with the building's tenants contained no significant leads. Initially presumed to be a girl aged between 2-20 months, a reevaluation in 2017 determined the remains belonged to a boy estimated to be between 3-5 years old.

A series of tests, including isotopic, pollen, and DNA analyses, were conducted on the remains. Findings revealed a possible relocation pattern in the child's life. Isotopic and pollen data suggest he initially resided in the Northwestern United States before moving to the Southeastern region later in life.

The exact cause of death remains undetermined. However, the skeletal analysis indicates severe malnutrition, suggestive of possible neglect during the child's life. The child was formally identified in July 2021. However, his identity was not released publicly.
