Jefferson County John Doe was a man who was discovered in 2019.
He was identified with help from the DNA Doe Project in July 2021.
A homeowner walking near Douglas Lake in Dandridge, Tennessee reported seeing a suspicious bag next to the lakeshore. The gold bag contained human remains.
The Regional Forensic Center in Knoxville was unable to ascertain much information about the decedent other than he was a male of uncertain race/ethnicity but possibly white. They were also able to estimate his height and approximate age range.
The case is being treated as a homicide.
His skull was never found.
