"John Mercy" is the nickname given to an unidentified Hurricane Katrina victim found in 2005.

He is buried next to Jane Love, another victim of Hurricane Katrina.


The victim was discovered in a marshy area a week after Hurricane Katrina made landfall. He was buried in Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, Mississippi in February 2006. Local businesses and the city donated the coffins and flowers.
