RecentThis individual was recently confirmed to have been identified. Some details may change as more information is released publicly.

Jolaine Hemmy was a young female who was discovered drowned in the swimming pool of a motel in Pecos, Texas in 1966. She was identified with assistance from Orthram Inc. on January 19, 2021.

Case

The woman registered as a guest in the Roper Motel in Pecos, Texas alongside a male companion, registered as "Mrs. Russell Battuon" (or "Batuon").

While he slept in the room, the decedent went swimming in the pool, where she was later found drowned by a maid. There was no apparent evidence of foul play, despite the fact that screams were heard at the time preceding her death. It is believed she was alone when she died.

After the discovery, her companion checked out of the hotel and took their registration card, which contained additional identifying information about the pair. It is believed he acted out of fear; he left driving a 1963 Sedan.

Neither the decedent nor her male companion has been conclusively identified. They may have used the name of a Marine stationed in North Carolina, whose connection to the pair remains unclear.
