Juan was the possible name of a young man who was committed to the Stockton Insane Asylum by M. C. Blake, the Co. Judge of San Francisco, because of his "insanity caused by masturbation" on September 15, 1858.

Juan reportedly had no property and was born in Portugal in 1834. He died on October 30, 1858 due to marasmus (chronic malnutrition). He is buried at the Stockton State Hospital Cemetery.
