Paula Jean Welden was a young woman who disappeared in 1946. She was declared dead in 1956.
The circumstances that surround her case are unclear. Many believe she died from exposure, murder or suicide. She was one of several other unexplained disappearances in Bennington Triangle, which is an area of southwestern Vermont where a number of people went missing between 1945 and 1950.
