Sandra Denise Major, formerly known as Jane Doe B-16, was a twenty-year-old woman who was murdered by Gary Ridgway. Major was murdered in December 1982, her remains were found in 1985, and she was eventually identified in 2012.
Major, with a history of prostitution, traveled to the Auburn, Washington area, and was reported missing on Christmas Eve, 1982. She was last seen in Seattle, entering a vehicle. Her remains were found at a known dumpsite for Green River victims.
She was identified after a cousin contacted authorities after seeing a documentary on the Green River Killer in April 2012. By June of the same year, her identification was confirmed after DNA testing.
Ridgway confessed to her murder, eleven years before she was identified.
