Santa Cruz Doe was a young child whose crushed skull was found in a roadway in Santa Cruz, California.

Investigators believe the skull had been moved into the road by an animal before being run over by a vehicle. Fragments of cotton cloth and rabbit hair that was dyed red were found stuck to fragments of the skull. A fragment of cloth with a weve pattern was also found near the remains. The pattern on the cloth was consistent with that of a bedcloth or pillowcase and was believed to have originally been blue or green in colour.

Characteristics

  • Light brown human hair was found with the skull and is believed to have belonged to the child.
