Kim Ryan Casey was man whose body was located in a barn south of Tyler, Texas, in 2004.
The DNA Doe Project announced his identification on December 14, 2021.
Identification[]
The DNA Doe Project started working on Casey's case in 2019. He was identified as a candidate in August 2021 and his relatives were contacted for identification purposes. Casey's family tree included a lot of endogamy with relatives in Missouri and Kentucky and as a result, relatives appeared more closely related than they really were. He also had ancestral ties to Scotland. Another difficulty in his identification was the small amount of DNA that had been bacterially contaminated.
