Case
The decedent's partially decomposed skull, limbs, and bones were discovered by employees from the Ministry of the Environment in the "Pine Valley Open Space," located at 7211 Pine Valley Road, which is north of Highway 7.
Items nearby, such as bed linens, clothes, personal belongings, a bin of rotten food, and worn down shoes suggested he was homeless. Two newspapers were found with him. One was dated November 23, 2004, and the other was dated January 9, 2005, suggesting he may have died in January or afterwards.
Characteristics
- His hair was white, long, and shoulder-length, along with his beard.
- He had a lesion under his right eye which was possibly a tumor.
- Other than some teeth in his upper jaw having amalgam restorations, he had poor dental care, as most of his teeth were missing.
- The end of his left pinkie finger had been amputated.
- He was suffering severe degenerative disease of the spine.
- He was also suffering degenerative disease of his joints, which may have been just as severe or less severe than his spine.
- He had arthritis.
