Zakia Mansour was a Tunisian woman found dead in December 1994 in Germany. She was found to have drowned in her own blood in a water hole. She was identified in June 2020.
Case
Zakia was found along a farm road in Gifhorn, Germany. She was brutally beaten and dragged 40-50 meters to a water hole, where she ultimately drowned. Her face was so destroyed that it was difficult to make a facial reconstruction. Forensic experts assumed that the dead woman was from Asia.
Zakia had been reported missing as recently as 2019. The daughter-in-law filed a report and after a DNA match it was determined that the victim was Zakia Mansour from Tunisia.
Little is known about Zakia and her disappearance, except that she took a plane to Hanover, Germany, on December 13, 1994. She had probably met with a woman. The woman was possibly from the Wolfsburg area. Zakia had been staying in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt and knew several people there and in the Wolfsburg area. She had been seen in a restaurant in the Braunschweig area.
